Bixby Electric was founded in 1977 at Ft. Sumner, NM as both an electrical and a general contracting firm. Many of the company’s first projects were at Cannon AFB in Clovis, NM. After relocating to Albuquerque in the early 1980s, the firm steadily increased its capabilities, providing electrical construction and maintenance for both the public and private sectors.
In 2007, Bixby Electric aligned itself with the TEGG Corporation, an international service and testing firm, greatly expanding its service and testing capabilities.
Bixby Electric maintains affiliations with the Independent Electrical Contractors Association, which provides the company with apprenticeship training and continuous education training for journeymen; and with the Associated Contractors of New Mexico, the Heavy/Highway branch of the Associated General Contractors, which provides training in traffic control, mine safety, and other safety disciplines.
